The short version: We only collect what we actually need. We don't sell your data. We don't share it unless we have to. And you can ask us to delete it at any time.

1. Who we are

UniToShine is an AI implementation consultancy run by Laure Jeremie, based in the United Kingdom. When this policy refers to "we", "us", or "UniToShine", it means Laure Jeremie trading as UniToShine.

For the purposes of UK GDPR, UniToShine is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. This means we decide how and why your data is processed.

You can reach us at: contact@unitoshine.com

2. What we collect

We collect personal information in a few different ways, and only what we genuinely need:

Information you give us directly

  • Your name and email address when you contact us or sign up for updates
  • Your business name and role, if you share it
  • Details about your business and the challenges you're facing, when you fill in an enquiry form or speak with us
  • Payment and billing information when you purchase a service (processed securely by our payment provider — we don't store card details ourselves)
  • Anything else you choose to share with us in messages, calls, or project work

Information collected automatically

  • IP address and approximate location
  • Browser type and device information
  • Pages visited on our website and how long you spent on them
  • How you arrived at our site (search engine, social media, referral link)

We collect this through cookies and similar tracking tools. For more detail, see our Cookie Policy.

Information from other sources

  • If you connect with us on LinkedIn or social media, we may have access to your public profile information
  • Referrals from existing clients or partners, where they've shared your contact details with your consent

3. How we use it

We use your information to:

  • Respond to your enquiries and have meaningful conversations about your work
  • Deliver and manage the services you've purchased
  • Send you updates, resources, or content that we think will genuinely be useful to you (with your consent)
  • Improve our website, services, and the way we communicate
  • Comply with our legal and tax obligations
  • Protect against fraud and keep our business secure

We will never use your data to make automated decisions that have a legal or significant effect on you, without first telling you and giving you the ability to challenge that decision.

4. Legal basis for processing

Under UK GDPR, we need a lawful reason to process your personal data. Here's what we rely on:

What we're doing Legal basis
Responding to your enquiries and delivering our services Contract — processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into, or performing, a contract
Sending marketing emails and updates Consent — you've explicitly opted in, and you can withdraw at any time
Analysing website usage to improve our site Legitimate interests — we have a genuine business interest in understanding how our site performs, balanced against your privacy rights
Keeping financial and transaction records Legal obligation — UK law requires us to retain certain financial records
Fraud prevention and security Legitimate interests — protecting our business and users from harm

5. Third-party tools

We use a small number of trusted services to run our business. Each has its own privacy policy, and we only share the minimum information needed.

  • Email and CRM tools — to manage client communications and our mailing list
  • Payment processors — to handle transactions securely (we never store your card details)
  • Website analytics — to understand how our site is used, using anonymised or aggregated data where possible
  • Project and collaboration tools — when working on your project, we may use shared platforms to communicate and deliver work
  • AI and automation platforms — as an AI consultancy, we use and test various tools; we will always ask for your consent before processing client data through any AI system

We do not sell your data to any third party. Ever.

If we are ever required to share your information by law — for example in response to a court order — we will tell you unless we are legally prevented from doing so.

6. How long we keep your data

We keep your personal data for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law. In practice:

  • Enquiries that don't lead to a project: we delete contact details within 12 months of our last communication
  • Client project data: we retain records for up to 6 years after the project ends, in line with UK contract and tax law
  • Marketing contacts: we keep your details for as long as you remain subscribed; once you unsubscribe, we remove your data within 30 days
  • Financial records: we are legally required to keep these for at least 6 years
  • Website analytics data: retained in anonymised or aggregated form

When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it securely.

7. Your rights

You have real rights over your personal data. Here's what they mean in practice:

  • Right of access — you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Right to rectification — if any of your data is inaccurate or incomplete, you can ask us to correct it
  • Right to erasure — you can ask us to delete your data where there's no compelling reason for us to keep it
  • Right to restriction — you can ask us to pause the processing of your data in certain circumstances
  • Right to portability — you can ask for your data in a structured, machine-readable format to move it elsewhere
  • Right to object — you can object to us processing your data where we rely on legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time
  • Right to withdraw consent — where we rely on consent to process your data, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting anything we did before

To exercise any of these rights, email us at contact@unitoshine.com. We will respond within one month.

If you are not satisfied with how we've handled your data, you have the right to complain to the UK's data protection authority:

Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)
Website: ico.org.uk  ·  Helpline: 0303 123 1113

That said, we'd always rather you come to us first so we have the chance to put things right.

8. International data transfers

Some of the third-party tools we use may store or process data outside the UK or European Economic Area. Where this happens, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place — such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions — to protect your data to the same standard required under UK GDPR.

9. Cookies

We use cookies on our website to make it work properly and to understand how it's being used. You can manage your cookie preferences at any time. For full details, see our Cookie Policy.

10. Changes to this policy

If we make significant changes to how we handle your data, we'll update this page and, where appropriate, let you know directly. The "last updated" date at the top of this page tells you when it was last revised.

11. Get in touch

If you have any questions about this policy, how we use your data, or you want to exercise any of your rights, we're easy to reach:

  • Email: contact@unitoshine.com
  • Or use the contact form on our website

We take data seriously — not because we have to, but because it's the right thing to do. Your trust matters to us.
